SAVANNAH, GA – February 5, 2024 – Mary’s Place: Sexual Assault Center of the Coastal Empire, Inc. is slated to host their second annual lip sync competition at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 26 at Victory North, located at 2603 Whitaker Street in Savannah. As the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year, Mary’s Place is actively seeking partners to sponsor the event as well as teams to participate in the lip sync competition. This innovative fundraising event will once again offer guests delicious food and cocktails, a silent auction, and a chance to enjoy and vote for the teams competing for the 2024 ‘Find Your Voice’ awards.
The nonprofit organization is appealing to individuals, businesses and organizations to join in the fun and enter a lip sync team. Each team is asked to lip sync to popular tunes of self-empowerment and strength that are approved ahead of the competition by Mary’s Place. Teams will be competing for the coveted Crystal Mic Award but also have the chance to win Audience Favorite and Most Funds Raised by a team before the competition.
Mary’s Place is also appealing to the community for much needed sponsorships, starting at only $500, which will help to maintain vital services for survivors of sexual assault as well as support prevention programs.
“The topic of sexual assault is uncomfortable for people to talk about; that’s why the theme of this event, ‘Find Your Voice’, is so important because everybody has a right to be heard,” said Doris L. Williams, Executive Director of Mary’s Place. “Funds raised from this competition will help to ensure that Mary’s Place will be able to maintain services for anybody who has been affected by sexual assault across seven counties within the Coastal Empire and to extend our prevention and educational programs.”
